Privacy Policy
This page explains what DogCalorieCalc does and does not collect. In short: the calculator never uploads your data, and the site is funded by third-party advertising.
This site’s data practices in plain English
Policies are written to be complete rather than readable, so here is the short version in ordinary language.
Using the calculator tells us nothing about your dog. The tool runs on your own device. The weight, neuter status, body-condition score and food figure you type in are worked out by your browser and are not sent to us, to our host, or to any advertiser. We could not tell you what you entered yesterday even if we wanted to, because no copy of it exists anywhere except your screen. There is nothing to sign up for, and no need to hand over an email address to get a result.
The ads are a separate machine. Advertising here is served by a third party. That partner may set cookies and build a profile of the sites you visit in order to decide which ads to show. Those cookies belong to them rather than to us, and they are the same ones that would be set on any other site using the same ad network.
What we can see is aggregate and anonymous. Our host records ordinary web-server information — which pages were requested, roughly where in the world from, and what browser. It tells us the calculator page is busy. It does not tell us that any particular person looked up a 12 kg neutered dog, because no record of that exists.
If you want the ads to know less. You can switch off personalised advertising through the links in the next section, clear cookies in your browser, or use a private window. The calculator behaves exactly the same either way, because it never depended on any of that to begin with.
Third-party advertising
DogCalorieCalc is a free, independently maintained project and is supported by third-party advertising. We work with an advertising partner (such as Google AdSense) to serve ads on this site. These partners may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and to build an advertising profile based on your visits to this and other websites.
Google, as a third-party vendor, uses the DART cookie to serve ads based on your prior visits. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting the Google Ads Settings, or opt out of many third-party advertising cookies through the Digital Advertising Alliance or Your Online Choices. Disabling personalised ads does not stop ads from appearing — it only stops them from being based on your browsing history.
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
The calculator does not upload your data
The dog calorie calculator runs entirely in your browser. The weight, age, neuter status, activity, body-condition and food figures you enter are processed on your device and are never uploaded, stored or sent anywhere — the maths is finished on your machine before anything would have left it. There is no account, no sign-in and no saved history.
What we do collect
Like virtually all websites, this site's host and advertising partners may automatically log standard technical information when a page is requested — such as the page URL, browser type, and an approximate region derived from your IP address. This is used only in aggregate (for example, to see which pages are popular) and is never linked to any calculation you perform, because the calculator keeps no record of those.
Cookies
Cookies on this site are set by our advertising partner for the purposes described above. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
